Preaching the Gospel

This Sunday we talked about the Christian mandate of being Christ’s witnesses to the world around us. We acknowledged that there is a ton of opposition when it comes to being a witness or preaching the Gospel to people that are close to us but far from God. These include spiritual opposition, cultural opposition, and personal opposition. Not only is there opposition keeping us from peaching the Gospel well; but it’s also possible that our methods have become outdated and our message watered down.
With all of these potential obstacles, how can we become effective at sharing the Gospel message with our friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors? We should become a people who live compelling lives and tell compelling stories.
Live a compelling life. (John 4:9)
Life a life of radical obedience to Jesus that causes people to do a double-take.
Tell a compelling story. (John 4:13-14)
Use your words to help people see that your compelling life comes from a personal relationship with Jesus which changes everything. Find the pain points in the lives of your friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors; and offer Jesus as the solution to their pain.
As we do this we should pray with confidence knowing that whether we see the results or not, God is working in peoples' lives to bring about a great spiritual harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38)
